With over 35 years of combined experience designing, installing and servicing homeowner’s indoor and outdoor living spaces, Jay and Rob can help you create your dream project.
Salter’s employs knowledgeable, professional and friendly sales representatives who know the right questions to ask and how to advise each customer through the design and purchase process.
Salter’s also employs experienced installation and service technicians who are regularly trained and certified to industry standards and complete the project based on the customer’s expectations.
Salter’s is also known for solving installation challenges, from creating a space for a fireplace where one didn’t exist, to complementing a wide range of interior design requests from their customers. The entire Salter’s team is educated on the hearth industry, providing safety advice with every fire and grill purchase.
They prefer to purchase North American-made products when deciding what to offer Salter’s clients and what to display in the showroom.
“Not only is the quality better at Salters but we want to build relationships with our customers. We want to be the resource they come to when they need something in the future, from parts for their hearth products to purchasing additional pieces for their patio set,” says Jay. “Each year the chains change up their designs and product lines or offer a limited warranty. This means the customer tends to spend more money over a few years than they would if they originally purchased from Salters.”
Owners Jay Stong and Rob Woroniak employ over 15 people including Jay’s wife and children who run the back office.
We are one big family! Our goal to provide a ‘warm’ experience to our customers from the minute they call or walk into our store to when they enjoy their living space for the first time – and that is not a sales pitch!
Jay Stong purchased the business from the Salter’s family 13 years ago, but has been involved with the running of the company for over twenty years. Jay has always wanted to operate his own business, and when the Salter’s family made the offer to purchase the company, he couldn’t refuse.
Rob Woroniak started in this business in 1999, has been factory trained by several top hearth manufacturers, has achieved NFI’s Master Hearth Professional status, and has even taught NFI certification review courses. Rob has served on the board of the Mid-Atlantic HPBA, and been on the education committee for several years.
Salters’ is proud to be a warm neighbor to the community’s local sports leagues, clubs and other non-profit organizations.
“When a customer purchases anything from our store and mentions the organization sponsored by Salter’s, we donate 3% of the sale to that organization,” explains Jay. “We’re a family-focused business and we feel the community is also a part of our family. Every little bit helps in this economy and we feel this is a rewarding referral program for the customer, the organization and us.”
Salter’s hosts many events throughout the year including their annual Memorial Day Sale which supports the local Purple Heart and Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help fight childhood cancer.
You can support this great cause and enjoy fresh lemonade poured by one of the Stong children during Lemonade Days in June as well as at the annual Kickoff Sales Event in September. Check out our events calendar for details…
