We all find the internet very helpful and entertaining from time to time. For example:
- How to bake a cake
- How to grill the perfect steak
- How to build a house
Sadly, it seems that what we watch and what happens when we (the DIY’er) try to replicate the video is rarely the same. For example:
- How to burn a cake
- How to grill shoe leather
- How to follow code enforcement
Everything takes some level of skill and training. That is why I do not bake and would not eat it if I did, and I doubt any of you would either. A doctor, lawyer, electrician, auto mechanic, even your local fire technician study and have ongoing training courses to hold and maintain their credentials.
So, for all my DIY friends reading this blog post, the next time you set your mind to fix, repair or install a fireplace or stove remember it might cost you more than you would ever save to do it yourself!
Ask yourself this question… “Would I hand a scalpel to my neighbor, father, brother-in-law and say, ‘Just watch the video on my phone to perform the operation.’ ”
Please contact an experienced fireplace service technician at Salter’s Fireplace Patio Grill or schedule an appointment for a cleaning or service of your gas fireplace, insert or grill.
